Found in the offices of Google, Virgin Active Gyms and airport lounges around the world, the napping pod is revolutionising the workplace; encouraging workers to sleep on the job!
Recently found in over 40 organisations in Australia- the MetroNap might soon be coming to an office near you. Australian institutes that have purchased this savvy pod include Queensland Health, the Australian Institute of Sport and Health Insurance Company, MBF.
MetroNaps use NASA technology and are produced in Australia, but this form of power napping doesn’t come cheap selling at a cool NZ$21,000 or leasing them for NZ$1470 a month.
Resembling something straight out of a sci-fi film; the pod is shaped like a recliner chair with helmet – protecting the peaceful worker from outside noise or light. After no more than 30 minutes, the staff member is woken as the chair moves back to an upright position and a mixture of gentle vibration and pale lighting rouses them from their sleep. The worker is woken without drowsiness and with a boost of alertness, memory, creativity and mood.
Get ready to put your feet up and feel relaxed as we move into a new generation workplace.
